TOWNSEND RESIDENCE
Ashland, Oregon
Set on an 80 acre forested property overlooking Emigrant Lake and the Siskiyou Mountains the Townsend Residence maximizes the 270 degree views while conforming with the Scenic Byway design guidelines. Three types of exterior siding/colors & native stone are used to express the different building forms while improving a more intimate building scale. Extensive solar water & photo-electric panels are being used to recoup costs from the local utility provider. Four foot plus overhangs supported by site-built timber outriggers complement the heavy exposed timber trusses inside the home.
